Talk:The Eugenics Council
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The band's name seems pretty unique, and 200+ Google hits seems to indicate some notability - plus albums. If that's not enough for WP:MUSIC, though, I'll support the prod. Rklawton 19:44, 13 July 2006 (UTC)
- I don't personally find google hits convincing at all- anyone who cares to promote themselves on the internet (say, by making a wikipedia article about themself) can easily get a couple hundred google hits. If there's media coverage of this band, that counts for a lot. AMG has nothing on them. Friday (talk) 20:01, 13 July 2006 (UTC)
- Here's a link to press reviews, etc. [1]

- Well, that certainly helps. I glanced thru the google hits and it did look like most but not all of them were about the band. I still haven't seen any coverage in what I'd call major media tho. I found evidence of only one record, but it sounds like this act is all about the live performance, not making records. I guess I don't have much of a strong opinion either way right now. - The Eugenics Council are in AMG, but for some reason they are listed under Rosemary Malign, but the cd shown is in fact E.C.

It appears that E.C. has multiple releases on vinyl,cd,cdr, tape and a dvd. A partial discography is posted on http://myspace.com/eugenicscouncil
[edit] Moved
Since most of the content was about the band, and since an individual member's significance depends on the band, I've moved this article and tweaked it somewhat to be about the band, rather than about just one member. Friday (talk) 20:29, 13 July 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Rosemary Malign Move.
Although I agree that the Eugenics Council should have their own page, there is some information that should be noted about RosemaryMalign, which I believe justifies her own page.
Rosemary Malign is an independent artist who is know for her work with (and co-founder of) The Eugenics Council, she is also known for her solo work. (See the Extreme Music From Women, The MeatSocket, and Satanic Psyops) While it seems that the page should be referred to as The Eugenics Council, one should take note that most of the reviews (both live and released) are focused on Rosemary's involvement, her unique lyric writing and vocal stylings. Also note that there are no Eugenics Council releases that dont directly and heavily involve her. Most importantly She is a North American Writer, see "Apocalypse Culture II" and "The Lux Artillery".
