[edit] Citations.

This is the citation information for the copy at my local library. In ths edition, contributors are listed on page xxiii. (It's a key to the initials under each article.)

For instance, the article on Isaac Asimov is cited thusly:

and prints:

Clute, John; Edwards, Malcolm J. (1993). "Isaac Asimov". Encyclopedia of Science Fiction (2nd ed.). Ed. John Clute and Peter Nicholls. St. Martin's Press. 55–60. ISBN 0-312-09618-6.

 • Omissions

Strangely the encyclopedia does not have a category for books, which in the print editions at least can make it hard to track things down unless they've been adapted for other media - for example 'The Lord of the Rings' is a film and radio show, but 'The Silmarillion' does not exist and cannot be found until you know the Author's name. Worth mentioning in the main text--Nickpheas 07:04, 25 May 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Fair use rationale for Image:Scifiencyclo.jpg

Image:Scifiencyclo.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

[edit] Disabiguation

I have found a book titled Encyclopedia of Science Fiction -not- THE Encyclopedia of Science Fiction with the following info:

Consultant Editor Robert Holdstock Foreword by Isaac Asimov Hardcover: 224 pages Publisher: Wh Smith Pub (December 1978) ISBN-10: 0706407563 ISBN-13: 978-0706407563

Should we mention it on this page, or maybe create a disabiguation page so that "Encyclopedia of Science Fiction" does not redirect to "The Encyclopedia of Science Fiction"? It may even be a very early edition of the same book?
