[edit] Genre

This story is characteristic of a genre of pulp fiction serial dramas popular at the time Dostoevsky wrote the novella. Most well known is of course, the later Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde. Can anyone comment further on this genre which clearly influenced Dostoevsky in portraying his psychological musings? --Kenneth M Burke 03:03, 12 June 2007 (UTC)
