[edit] Capitalization
Both WP:MOS-CL#Mixed_or_non-capitalization and Wikipedia:WikiProject_Music/MUSTARD#Capitalization indicate that band names should follow standard capitalization rules even in situations where the band intentionally uses lowercase. A note can be added to indicate that the band prefers lowercase spelling of the band name if this is the case, however, I think a reference should also be provided as a quick google shows standard capitalization in use for The Dinner Is Ruined in every site I came across. - (Comment moved here from User_talk:Strobilus) Neither of those links you quote apply in this situation. Band names are like corporate names and should be spelled out in the same manor the company uses. ie TELUS. --Djsasso 05:45, 5 November 2007 (UTC)

- If a band name is like a corporate name, then MOS:TM#Trademarks_that_begin_with_a_lowercase_letter ought to apply, which indicates that standard capitalization should be used. Either way, a reference is needed to verify that the band prefers lowercase. The albums that I have use all caps, not lowercase. Strobilus 05:57, 5 November 2007 (UTC)
- I don't see strong evidence that the band uses all lowercase letters, otherwise I wouldn't have moved the page! Is there evidence for lowercase? Almost all websites and MP3 retailers use "The Dinner Is Ruined". (Note: "The Dinner is Ruined" is less correct, since "Is" should be capitalized.) The album art is not any indication of convention, since I have found mixed case Dinner is Ruined (look here), all caps (e.g., here and here) and a few albums that use lower case (e.g., I think ice cream... uses this convention, although I haven't found an image on the net). The lack of consistency indicates that there is no "lower case" convention, so the normal capitalization should be used here. +mt 16:20, 5 November 2007 (UTC)
