[edit] Film english title
The issue is whether to use "Lăzărescu" or "Lazarescu" in the English title and, implicitly, in the article name. The article was originally created (by me) with "Lăzărescu", then changed (correctly IMO) to "Lazarescu", then changed back. Let's discuss it. I propose "Lazarescu" as it seems that this was the version used by the distributor in the English name (see advertizing material, for instance the EN poster in the article vs. the RO one). Any arguments? AdamSmithee 11:07, 25 May 2007 (UTC)
- I agree that "Lazarescu" is the correct spelling of the film in English. This Amazon.com link clearly shows the title in English without the breves. The main menu of my copy of the DVD, produced by Tartan Films, shows "The Death of Mr. Lazarescu" (without breves). Because the aforementioned recent move was a copy-and-paste, I will reverse the redirects so that the article history is connected with the actual article. If there is a consensus for having the title at The Death of Mr. Lăzărescu instead, the article can be moved properly using the move feature. Olessi 11:57, 25 May 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Comedy
I've seen a lot of comedy in my day, and I didn't find anything about this film amusing. What exactly is this "black comedy" aspect that I keep seeing everywhere, except in the movie?? — [ ric | opiaterein ] — 01:09, 11 September 2007 (UTC)

- Towards the middle of the movie there's a somewhat humorous part (with the doctor doing the cat scan). I don't know if it is enough to qualify for comedy, but some critics seemed to think so. AdamSmithee 07:35, 11 September 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Fair use rationale for Image:Moartea domnului lazarescu0.jpg
Image:Moartea domnului lazarescu0.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.
