Talk:The Deaf Club
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Robert Hanrahan responds: The name of the Club where I recorded the "Can You Hear Me, Music from the Deaf Club" album that included the 3 Dead Kennedys songs was the San Francisco Club for the Deaf, a Club for Deaf People. Ray P aka "east bay ray" used the safety masters from my recording for their "famous album" that you refer to mistakenly. This Club, regardless of who was involved, is an important part of San Francisco's music legacy. Be my guest and have at editing the piece if you think its innacurate.
It seems like an odd name for the Deaf Club. This is the famous Deaf Club where the Dead Kennedys recorded their famous album Live at the Deaf Club (March 2004).
Consider changing the page name to The Deaf Club.
Maybe this is vanity for Robert Hanrahan disguised as an article, but probably not for The Mutants.
Should put my bit in to.. Peter Worrall responds: Robert H ran it like a demented director... but I did an awful lot of work into making the Deaf Club what it was and the bands surrounding it..designing the posters and managing the parties and club every night.. THere' always some who wants to take all the accolade hey?... WE recorded the Deaf Club album. WE where the Walking Dead not just RH. HI robert...
Hi Peter good to hear from you. you did do a lot of the work at the club with the rest of us - Ivy wasn't mentioned, or Freddie or the other 98 pound bouncer or some of the Deaf People. Also, you ran the show when Bruce Conner held the party - wish i was there. don't recall you babysitting the mix downs during the recording or dealing with the police, the Hispanic gangs, drunks, welfare hotel problems, noise abatement, fire department inspectors, alcohol & beverage control agents or touring with the bands and trying to get record deals. my recollection is that you and john decided to walk away after he ate the LSD during the hot tuna show/Offs tour in NYC. you need to add everything you did to the article if its not there. sorry you feel left out. i was left holding the bag and had to make good with what was left. sorry for any hard feelings - you were always dialed in even when you were making the bloomingdale pins or were falling in love. best regards, the demented dictator
[edit] Contradiction
doing a copyedit on this article, I found a contradiction. One part says that it was at the top of 2 long staircases in a loft, while the next paragraph says that it is underground. I have commented out both, and if someone knows which it is, feel free to correct it. :) -- Stwalkerster talk 21:58, 1 August 2007 (UTC)
