[edit] Potential sources

In the interest of fleshing out the article a bit, here are some sources that might be useful:

  • Fuzz, acid and flowers : a comprehensive guide to American garage, psychedelic and hippie rock (1964-1975) (includes rarity/sought-after scale and compilation listings), Joynson, Vernon
  • Sixties rock : garage, psychedelic, and other satisfactions Hicks, Michael, 1956-
Interestingly, one review listed by my library gives this quote from the book:
"Garage rock showed contempt for the trappings of middle- and upper-class society. . . . Psychedelic rock was more subversive, using new forms, unusual chord progressions, sophisticated technology, and novel gadgets to undermine the conventions of popular music, and implicitly, of the whole cultural environment"

We could highlight the significance of the "plasmatar" as one of those novel, subversive, sophisticated gadgets. Both of these books are available at my university's library, so hopefully I can sooner or later take a look at them for more info. The first looks especially promising as far as finding specific references to The David. --RockRockOn 01:42, 5 December 2006 (UTC)
