[edit] Strictly POV

At The Roundhouse, where I sold badges at the time, we were always keen to see The Cortinas because singer Jeremy Valentine had an very attractive sister. The high point of their set was the Them/Patti Smith song Gloria, in which the guitarist would pull off a deadpan solo of Hendrix's Third Stone from the Sun. They always seemed to be opening for The Stranglers - I guess they had the same agent - Albion? -- and IMHO always blew them off because they were younger & nerdier and thus truly punk. I specifically recall this happening when both bands opened for Patti smith at the Hammersmith Odeon in October 76. Wwwhatsup (talk) 06:55, 30 November 2007 (UTC)

Great story. Any more? Yozzer66 (talk) 12:55, 30 November 2007 (UTC)
