[edit] NPOV

It may be hard to maintain NPOV on this page for those who know of the Conventioneers, because of some of their conduct in the past. Personally, I am going to try and add a section on their Anime North 2006 (and MTAC 2007) appearance. Since this page is already tagged for NPOV (which seems to be in favour of the Conventioneers), I'm going to try to straighten that out without bashing them. In addition, anyone trying to edit this article should really take a couple of minutes to watch their videos on YouTube. Dante 06:01, 21 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Banned from Anime North

Despite dubious edits to their favour, "The Conventioneers" have been told not to return to Anime North. Matt and Jason should accept the consequences of their actions.

Listening to their externally linked audio program where they talk about their experience at Anime North, it's quite evident that they thrive by being needlessly confrontational and insulting in a pathetic attempt to gain ratings/exposure (http://www.bitetv.ca/BITEradio/BITE-RADIO-EPISODE-78.mp3 listen around the 5minute mark).

[edit] Biased Criticism on Anime North 2006

Doesn't seem a little bit unfair that your condemning them, without even hearing anything what they have to say about the events?

Regarding the "Child Cruelty" part of Anime North 2006: The kid's mother was standing there, she had to sign the release form for the kid to be on it; he was too young to sign by himself; plus, if Matt truely had beaten up the child, he would've been arrested, and fired from BITE.

Enough about it, Matt Didn't Beat up the kid, period.

I think, that they make fun of Cosplayers now, is the fact that they keep bringing up one stupid thing that happened at Anime North 2006. I have friends who are avid cosplayers, they go to every convention in Toronto & the GTA, and I still thought that, that podcast was pretty funny, and so did they.

This is what I was told when I got a chance to talk to Jason about that, he told me:
"Love Us, or Hate Us, You Still Know Who We Are"

[edit] Reality

The Conventioneers are banned from returning due not just their playfighting, documentation is ironically available on their youtube site. The further insults in their broadcast further prove the point as to why they are banned. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 70.49.27.133 (talk) 04:03, 8 May 2007 (UTC).

[edit] Unspecified source for Image:8975.jpg

I found Image:8975.jpg and noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. Someone will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If it was obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, then their copyright should also be acknowledged.

As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self-no-disclaimers}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Fair use, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If there are other files on this page, consider checking that they have specified their source and are tagged properly, too. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 04:07, 26 May 2007 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

[edit] Fair use rationale for Image:8975.jpg

Image:8975.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.Betacommand (talkcontribsBot) 04:07, 26 May 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Source for Image:8975.jpg

I (Bam_Pontius) uploaded the picture to wikipedia. I work for BITE Television, and I mantain the myspace accounts that are under BITE's names. So it's fine to be on Wikipedia—Preceding unsigned comment added by Bam pontius (talkcontribs)

That’s not the problem. The problem is that the image doesn't have a source or a URL link to show where the image originally came from. I'll take care of it though. What a fine job you've done with BITE Television BTW. Congrats -- bulletproof 3:16 19:45, 19 June 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Underage Dating

Another issue probably worth discussing is the fact that Matt Chin was involved with a fifteen year old girl inbetween late 2006 and early 2007. Besides alleged double-timing with another girl who was 16 (which is of legal age in Canada, last I checked), the fact that he was dating a 15-year-old throws some ethical questions into the ring. Is he in fact a pedophile, and should parents of young girls be on the lookout for him? There's no information as to sexual relations between the two, but the fact remains that dating someone that much younger than yourself is highly unethical, if not illegal. -- H.

That was probably just a rumour perpetuated by anime forums A.Roz (talk) 01:04, 12 February 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Kicked out of another convention / biased edits to cover ass?

Word on the street says these people got told to leave another event, got confrontational and the hotel management was involved. Charming. It's wonderful to note these people seem only capable at disgusting shock tactics and abhorent behaviour for the sake of pathetic forms of entertaimnent.

It's also interenting to note that soon after that incident, a certain pro-Conventioneer user popped in to make unflattering facts disappear, again. Please spend more time cleaning up your act than screwing around here. You people could actually be funny if you and your crew were not so busy being assholes to other people at conventions. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.10.131.3 (talk • contribs)

That is why your edits are being reverted. Please, whatever things you have against the subject of this article, take it somewhere else. Wikipedia is an Encyclopedia not a place for opinions. The articles here are to have a neutral point of view. This article does not show the hosts' point of view nor should it have the point of view of someone who antagonizes. Please read WP:NPOV and WP:V before you continue to make any more edits. -- bulletproof 3:16 22:25, 10 July 2007 (UTC)
3bulletproof16 is also an editor of Jason Agnew's entry at Wikipedia, I find my lack of faith in your objectiveness rather justified. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.10.132.141 (talk • contribs)
Its your word against Wikipedia policy. Sorry but Wikipedia policy wins.-- bulletproof 3:16 19:25, 13 July 2007 (UTC)
