Talk:The Confluence

[edit] POV tag
This article is more of an elegy to the publication rather than a description. One POV issue is that the text is too sympathetic to the topics Confluence covers, rather than presenting the topics covered in a neutral light. | Mr. Darcy talk 20:44, 10 October 2006 (UTC)
- Mr. Darcy,
- Thank you for cleaning up the article and providing the links. It seems that you have made it more of an article than an elegy, which I appreciate. As far as a citation for the Times Beach issue having a national distribution, I'm not sure that there is documentation, but I'm here with Mark Berry right now and he says that he printed 5000 copies and sent out about 500 to groups working on dioxin issues in the U.S. As for the POV, I think that you improved that, but I'm not sure what more to add to make it agreeable. I know that the current mayor and police department in St. Louis would probably have dissenting opinions if they were solicited for information.
- Thanks again,
- Dan

- I think a good guideline is that the article should focus on the publication, rather than on the topics it covers. I took out some of the POV language that was causing the problem (referring to "the struggle" against the dioxin incinerator), but it could still use some touching up. We also need more hard data on the publication - what does it cost? where is it available? what company publishes or finances it (if there is one)? has it received any awards or plaudits from reliable third parties? And so on. | Mr. Darcy talk 00:24, 11 October 2006 (UTC)
