[edit] The Book according to Erdős
There should be an entry here for the serious joke of Erdős Pál about The Book god has that contains the most elegant proof for all mathematical theorems. Pity there's no article for it so we can only link it to the Erdős articl, but I think it would still deserve a mention here. I didn't write it because I can't think of a concise way to formulate this.
"The Book" is also a literary tool that can refer to any specific item in conversation. For example, "the book" has many editions featuring "the oldest trick" and "the oldest joke". It can be adapted into any manner of publications depending on the usage and context. Despite its incredible flexibility, "the book" has no copyrights or known publisher. This last paragraph is obscure, please clarify.
The above was rescued from the article. It is not my comment. If someone wants to write an article on this meaning (I am not familiar with it) then please do so and then link to it from the disambiguation page. Cott12 00:45, 26 August 2007 (UTC)
