[edit] GA nomination on hold
Heya...leave a note on my talk page when you're done with this stuff. Cheers, — Dihydrogen Monoxide 04:53, 12 December 2007 (UTC)
- I'm pretty sure there's a part of the {{infobox album}} which lists singles released from the album (precedent: Dream Days at the Hotel Existence, etc. - a much better album :P). Might wanna include that here.
- "Rock Sound (9/10) link" - Why not use 9 (out of 10) stars like with everything else?
- Is there a link for the Metal Hammer review?
- "The opening track "Clenching the Fists of Dissent", as said by Machine Head vocalist Robb Flynn was the most difficult song to produce, as the introduction had 90 tracks." - I don't think this belongs in the first para of the lead - that should (IMO) cover who made the album, genre, release dates - really basic stuff. If you want to have this in the lead, put it in the 2nd para.
- ""Slanderous" was the first written song that was in the final track listing, and was the first song finished." - Being the first song in the final track listing and being the first song finished appears to mean the same thing...clarify?
- "Flynn and drummer Dave McClain spent 18 August and 19 jamming together," - for wlinking dates, do it like this; "...spent 18 and 19 August jamming..."
- "Record company, Roadrunner Records, hesitated the decision to open the album..." - Remove both commas
- "Lyrical themes explored on The Blackening include love, war, organized religion, anger in society..." - only organized religion is wlinked - what about the other stuff?
- "the article praised the murder of Dimebag Darrell, while he was performing with Damageplan on 8 December 2004. Nathan Gale pulled the trigger." - Reword --> "the article praised the murder of Dimebag Darrell by Nathan Gale, while Darrell was performing with Damageplan on 8 December 2004."
- "send a message to Grim implying "fuck you"," - might want to add a wlink (to fuck)
- "The songs "Clenching the Fists of Dissent", "A Farewell To Arms", and "Halo" deal with politics, the war in Iraq and organized religion." - Finish with the word "respectively" (after organized religion).
- It's interesting in the critical reception section that the best reviews (Metal Hammer, Kerrang!, Rocklouder, Rock Something) aren't mentioned.
- "Blabbermouth.net reviewer Don Kaye, awarded the..." - Remove the comma
- "At the fifth annual Metal Hammer Golden Gods awards, The Blackening won best album.[15]" - I think this (and the bit at the end of the 3rd para here) should be in their own seperate paragraph. I also think all the positive comments (Blabbermouth, AMG, Rock Sound) should be in the one para, and the not so positive (Blender, Rolling Stone, NME) in another - so there are still 3 paras in total.
- Do you know which American journalist (name?) leaked it?
