[edit] Headline text

  • Image:The_batman.jpg shows the Batman in action, but there isn't room for it unless somebody expands the article (hint, hint)
    • I think the article has been expanded, so I added your picture

anyone know if the younger portrayal of Batman is marketed to coincide with Batman Begins? Wareware 07:19, 9 Mar 2005 (UTC)

  • I doubt it. Simply because they're doing things in very different ways.-LtNOWIS 15:42, 25 Apr 2005 (UTC)

I think its safe to say that its at least meant to be a tie in to Begins the way BTAS was a tie in to the Burton films. Shouldnt this be mentioned?

[edit] Overview

"Pseudo-anime" was deleted. To say The Batman and The Jackie Chan animated series were fashioned in a pseudo-anime style is speculation. Please cite references.--Hokgwai 15:53, 19 October 2006 (UTC)

Does this mean that it should not be included in "Category:Anime-influenced animation"? -Gafami 03:35, 3 August 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Criticism of the show

Any thoughts on adding a section to comment on some of the criticism people have had with the show? Some of it may not be valid as this isn't trying to be another Batman the Animated Series, but a lot of people have taken issue with the Jackie Chan Adventures animation style and radical re-interpretation of characters such as the Joker and Riddler and this sentiment should probably be addressed in the article.Insomniac By Choice 02:48, 30 Apr 2005 (UTC)

I'm not sure this is newsworthy. It boils down to "Some people like it, some don't."Bjones

"But as the episodes aired, that idea went away" Not only that sentence sounds out of place (I guess it was added by some fan?) but it isn't true.

At least it sounds like they tried to fix his chin. That should really help. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 75.72.21.221 (talk) 23:37, 21 April 2007 (UTC).

[edit] page renamed

I've moved the page from The Batman (television) to The Batman (TV series); I believe that this follows Wikiconvention.

Taiichi 18:07, 7 May 2005 (UTC)

(or whatever is passing for convention these days... --Taiichi)

I've added Bennett and Yin to the first season paragraph. If someone can add more details about them, that would be great, but I wanted to avoid show spoilers for now. --Taiichi 23:21, 9 May 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Batwave

I do not really understand what the Batwave actually is or how it works, but a quick google search suggest that it is basically a gimmick to sell toys that interact with the TV somehow. Luis Dantas 18:46, 23 Jun 2005 (UTC)

Well - on the Show itself, it seemed to be a transmitter of some sort, perhaps to pick up Police Wavelengths?

As for the gimmick toy - someone else is going to have to come up with that.

[edit] Episode list

The episode list on this page has been subject to a long series of vandalism, fan-speculation, and revision/reverting. Might I suggest that we adopt, for now, the list at http://epguides.com/Batman_2004/ as the canonically "official" list, and wait for further developments? If no one disagrees, I'll do so later this week. jglc | t | c 13:55, 4 August 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Bullock and Monyota

"This is somewhat reminiscent of Detective Harvey Bullock and Officer/Detective Renee Montoya of Batman: The Animated Series, who similarly sought to catch Batman, but eventually end up in a tenuous alliance against crime." When did they ever attempt to catch him? I know Bullock hated him but he never tried to catch him- except in On Leather Wings and MotP- and Renee never interacted with him at all.

Renee does in fact interact in a few cases, but usually on batman's side like on POV (which is I think her debut as a caricature). And as far as catching super heroes, in the comics she goes on to date one super hero (Bat Woman) and then become another herself (the second Question). Bullock did however get agree with Gordan for not arresting batman on a few occasions.140.232.146.190 06:51, 11 November 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Season 4 erased?

I just noticed that the Season 4 description section in the main page has been erased. What happened?

There was no source provided for the information. CovenantD 00:47, 14 September 2006 (UTC)
You know, there used to be a link to legionsofgotham.com, but it was removed weeks ago for no reason at all.
That's not a good excuse.

Yes, it is a good excuse. LOG's site has been down for a few weeks for maintainance. This information can also be found at Worldfinest.com if you need it.

[edit] Help with bio and source info.

I need help trying to put a source link. In the Toymaker bio, I was trying to put a citation to a link in Legions Of Gotham reguarding his future appearance on The Batman Strikes!, but when I tried that, the link didn't take me anywhere. What am I doing wrong?

[edit] Inspirations/homages?

I just saw my first episode of The Batman today (in it, the Penguin was forming a team of super-villians.) After seeing Batman's costume, I was reminded very much of Battle of the Planets/Gatchaman. His cape features the same draping wrap-around neckline as the members of G-Force. In addition, the way he, Batgirl and Robin exited the Batmobile -- by flying out of frame and landing on their knees -- also seem lifted directly out of Gatchaman. Have their been any interviews with the creators on their inspiration of the art direction and animation style of this series? --68.103.154.140 06:06, 29 October 2006 (UTC) As far as I know there has been no mention of homages of that sort.

[edit] Batman joins the dark side

Why did you remove my part about batman joining the dark side —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Very Wikid (talk • contribs) 01:22, 29 December 2006 (UTC). What?

[edit] Prequel

Look it cant be a prequel; TB and BTAS exist in compleltly diffrent continuities that contradict each other. Who ever keeps putting that TB is a prequel-please stop.

[edit] The Batman Canceled

how come we havent see season 4 finale yet

  • it's not canceled, and they have also signed it for fifth season. Gman124 23:05, 16 April 2007 (UTC)
Also the fact that the season four finale is scheduled for the 5th May 2007. Wild ste 18:17, 2 May 2007 (UTC)

[edit] season 5 the last season

Over at the world finst site i found out season 5 could be the last season --Supermike 10:51, 27 July 2007 (UTC)

It is a possibility, but another interview said that there could be more. It's all up to the ratings and money they get from the toys. Hopefully they get enough and we have a season 6, but it feels very doubtful. --Vinnyvinny2 20:04, 27 July 2007 (UTC)
Considering that Kids' WB itself is canceled, the status of all shows is probably in flux. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 75.72.21.221 (talk) 03:40, 17 October 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Fair use rationale for Image:Ethan 01.jpg

Image:Ethan 01.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

[edit] The Batman and Legion of Super Heroes, The Same Community?

Is The Batman and Legion of Super Heroes in the same Community? Because it the same animation in both shows. --67.170.207.109 04:10, 1 October 2007 (UTC)

I don't think they're in the same continuity, judging by Clark/Superman's comments to Kal-El in one of the more recent episodes of Legion of Superheroes. He referred to a friend that was reluctant to join a team and combat evil, most likely referring to Batman, where in the The Batman continuity, Batman had to convince Superman to join the league. -Gafami 05:03, 1 October 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Theme music

The Theme from this show really seems to have something that reminds me of both the Adam West series theme and the TAS theme mixed together or something. Anyone know of the creators have ever commented on the theme? Since it's be OR for me to just put something in about how it reminds me of the older themes... [edit] Character info plagiarised?

The info sections for some of the characters seems to be copied, in whole or in part, from various other sources, instead of being rewritten and cited. For example, Batman's info would appear to be copied straight from this page for a Bobble Head toy. A googling of random samples of sentences from other descriptions seems to show more "coincidences". For example, the description of Batgirl here matches that on this page, but who copied who is questionable. I'm not investigating deeper; I came across this page while looking for something else, but the way Batman's info was written aroused my suspicion. In any case, even if there wasn't potential plagiarism going on, some of the descriptions are not written in an appropriate tone for an encyclopedia article.--Drat (Talk) 11:08, 27 April 2008 (UTC)
