[edit] Regimental Cap Badge does not have a belt

The use of belts on regimental cap badges has been discouraged by heraldry experts. The 48th Highlanders, I believe, had to change their cap badge to remove the belt buckle from their cap badge design. I've therefore edited out reference to "belt" in the armorial description of the cap badge here. I believe annulus is the correct description - defined in mathematics as "a ring-shaped geometric figure". A belt would necessarily include a buckle which the Argyll cap badge obviously lacks. 139.48.25.61 (talk) 19:07, 21 May 2008 (UTC)
