Rudy: The Rudy Giuliani Story is a made-for-television movie produced and broadcast in 2003 on the USA Network. The movie is a depiction of the life of former New York City mayor Rudy Giuliani, focusing primarily on his mayoral career and response to the September 11 attacks. [1] The film was based on the 2000 biography Rudy!: An Investigative Biography of Rudy Giuliani by Wayne Barrett. It has been broadcast in several different countries. The official tagline of the film was "He divided a city. He united a nation." [2]

The film was directed by Robert Dornhelm and starred James Woods as Mayor Rudy Giuliani, Penelope Ann Miller as former wife Donna Hanover, Michelle Nolden as alleged mistress Christine Lategano and Jack Langedijk as Police Commissioner William Bratton. Writer Stanley Weiser won an award from the Writers Guild of America for his work on the film. The film received two Emmy nominations. [3]

In a 2006 interview with PARADE, Woods reported that Giuliani met with him after the network premiere and praised his performance in the film.
