Politikon: The IAPSS Journal of Political Science (usually referred to simply as Politikon) is the academic journal of the International Association for Political Science Students (IAPSS). It is recognized as one of the leading academic journals publishing the work of students from across the fields of political science and international relations.

Founded in 2001, the journal is published twice yearly and distributed in hard copy and online to more than 10,000 IAPSS members in more than 40 countries on every continent, as well as outside the IAPSS network.

Politikon publishes undergraduate and graduate student scholarship from around the world. The peer-review and refereeing process involves academic experts from across the world and abstracts from Politikon are included in the International Political Science Association’s (IPSA) Annual International Political Science Abstracts.

[edit] Editorial Board

The Editorial Board of Politikon is elected by the IAPSS General Assembly at its annual conference. The Editorial Board coordinates the publication of the journal and facilitates the peer-review process. Overall Editorial control is exercised by the IAPSS Vice-Chairperson (Academic Affairs) who is a voting member of the Executive Committee of IAPSS.

The Editorial Board originally served a term which coincided with 1 October-30 September mandate of all other elected bodies in IAPSS. However, following a vote by the General Assembly in 2007 the mandate of the Editorial Board was changed so that from 2008 each Board would serve the period from one General Assembly to the General Assembly of the next year. The Editorial Board is the only elected body within IAPSS to opt for this mandate.

While The IAPSS Statute (Art. 22 Sec. 3) allows for an Editorial Board numbering up to four to serve under the Editor-in-Chief only three nominations for board positions were received in 2007. As a result all three candidates were elected unopposed and the IAPSS Executive Committee, in consultation with the IAPSS Supervisory Committee, can appoint a fourth person at any point during the 2007/08 mandate should it chose to do so. The composition of the Editorial Board reflects the diverse membership of the Association. The 2007/2008 Editorial Board including representatives from France, Italy, Slovenia and Turkey.

The current Editorial Board consists of:
