List of King of the Hill episodes |
"Peggy Hill: The Decline and Fall" is the 61st episode in the FOX animated situation comedy King of the Hill and is the season premiere of the fourth season. It is the resolution to the third season finale, "As Old As the Hills."
[edit] Plot
Peggy's parachute fails to open on her anniversary sky dive and she plummets to the ground and is rushed to the same hospital where her step-mother-in-law Didi has just given birth.
She survives the crash and Hank feels extensive guilt for encouraging her to jump while desperate to keep her from remembering that he encouraged her to jump. She is placed in a full body cast and begins the slow process of recovery. Unlike many animated series, Peggy's recovery will be a plot element in the next several episodes instead of being fully recovered from the major accident in the next episode.
Peggy returns home from the hospital, and is, according to her, one of only sixteen people in the world to survive a sky diving free fall. Cotton and Didi stay with Hank and Peggy while Didi recovers from giving birth to their son, whom Cotton names Good Hank (nicknamed G.H.).
Didi soon develops postpartum depression, and leaves the job of tending to Good Hank to others, most often Bobby.
Bobby folds under the pressure and with no one else in the house, Peggy manages to rock Good Hank to pushing his baby carrier with her big toe.
Eventually she remembers what made her jump--jealousy that Didi had given birth which she overheard Bobby tell Hank over the phone, rather than Hank's encouragement to jump.
[edit] Quotes and Exchanges
- Hank: You know Helen Keller was largely useless but look at how we remember her.
- Hank: You can't name him Good Hank. It'll make me look like Bad Hank.
- Cotton: Well you burned my burger didn't you B.H.?
- Bobby: I am a 12 year old boy. I am this child's nephew. I cannot do this! I cannot do this! If anyone cooks, I'll eat. But that's it. All I'll do is eat.
