Note by Note: The Making of Steinway L1037 is a documentary, that follows the construction of a Steinway piano over a year, from the search for wood in Alaska to a display at Manhattan's Steinway Hall. The documentary received its U.S. theatrical premiere at New York's Film Forum in November 2007.
Musicians, such as Marcus Roberts, Harry Connick, Jr., Bill Charlap, Kenny Barron, Hank Jones, Lang Lang, Pierre-Laurent Aimard and Hélène Grimaud, are testing and talking about the piano in the documentary.
