Jimi By Himself: The Home Recordings is a posthumous EP by guitar legend Jimi Hendrix. It was released as a companion CD to the book Voodoo Child: The Illustrated Legend of Jimi Hendrix, published by Penguin in 1995 featuring the story of Jimi's life and work in an illustrated graphic novel manner. Contrary to popular belief, the songs on this album were performed on an electric guitar, as opposed to an acoustic.

"1983... (A Merman I Should Turn to Be)" was eventually worked into a song which was featured on the 1968 album Electric Ladyland, "Angel" was another track which eventually featured on an album, namely The Cry of Love. "Cherokee Jam" was an early version of the song "Cherokee Mist", as was the latter part of the track "Voodoo Chile/Cherokee Mist", the former half of which was an early version of that which featured on Electric Ladyland. "Hear My Train A Comin'" is a very short version of the classic Hendrix song of the same name, and "Gypsy Eyes" was an early version of Electric Ladyland's song of the same title.
