TheScreamersScream.ogg (Ogg Vorbis sound file, length 38s, 156kbps)

30-second sample of The Screamers "The Scream" (Rene Daalder, David Campbell demo) (1978), from May 17, 1979 Rodney on the ROQ broadcast. Digital file sampled from Hit It! episode 3 (podcast).

[edit] Fair use for The Screamers and Synthpunk

Though the picture is subject to copyright I (Peter G Werner 07:42, 22 March 2007 (UTC)) feel it is covered by the U.S. fair use laws because:

  1. it is only a 30-second sample of a much longer track.
  2. it does not limit in any way the copyright owner's rights to produce a CD album from this track;
  3. the music sample is significant because it was made by a famous artist, The Screamers, being a notable representation of their sound, as well as an exmplar of the sound of the genre of early synthpunk.
