[edit] Plot summary

"The Journey" is the 2nd in the series Guardians of Ga'Hoole. It begins talking of Soren, Glyfie, Twilight, Digger, and Mrs. Plithiver, the blind nest maid snake. They are traveling to The Great Ga'Hoole Tree, a place told of in legends where owls rise out of the night to perform noble deeds. They travel through the Ice Narrows, Beaks, and over the Sea of Hoolemere to reach the Tree. They meet the leader of the tree, Boron, and his mate. They also meet an owl with a deformed foot and an eye in an everlasting squint. His name is Ezlyryb, leader of a Chaw. The band, as they prefer to refer to themselves as, are amazed by the tree, with its many secrets, but Soren is troubled by something, his sister, Eglantine. He is afraid she could have been snatched, or worse. In order to rescue her however, he must go through tests, some made by Ezlyryb, to become a true Guardian of Ga'Hoole.
