Gold: Their Great Hits was the first greatest hits collection released by Canadian rock band Steppenwolf. The album, released in 1971, charted at #24 on the Billboard Pop Albums charts. The album certified "gold" by the RIAA on April 12, 1971. In its review, All Music praises the production and engineering as "stellar" and characterizes the album as "an amazing period piece" that is "nearly perfect" "as an introduction to a great band."
