[edit] James Marcus

James Marcus is one the founding members of the Umbrella Corporation, as well as one of its most prolific research scientists. He leads a successful career, in which he most notably experiments with leech DNA and the Progenitor virus to create the predecessor to the T-Virus. However, Marcus' longtime friend and colleague, Ozwell E. Spencer, betrays him and sends his subordinates, Albert Wesker and William Birkin, to assassinate Marcus. Spencer steals Marcus' research to create Umbrella's Tyrant program. However, Marcus, with the aid of his test subjects, rises from the dead and seeks to exact vengeance upon Spencer during the events of Resident Evil Zero.

Sergei Vladimir (セルゲイ・ウラジミール Serugei Urajimīru?, based on Russian Сергей Владимирович) is a fictional character in the Resident Evil series. He appeared in Resident Evil: The Umbrella Chronicles, where he is the primary antagonist.[1]

A former colonel of the Soviet Union military, Sergei retained that title as a nickname after being discharged by the army. Following the fall of his homeland, he approached the Umbrella Corporation and quickly became one of the company's top executives. He became personally acquainted with Umbrella founder Ozwell E. Spencer, who began to rely on Sergei as a loyal and effective enforcer. Sergei subsequently formed and led Umbrella's militia, the Umbrella Biohazard Countermeasure Service[2], as well as Umbrella's internal espionage organization, Monitor. Agents that answered directly to Sergei include the likes of Nicholai Ginovaef.

As one of the rare individuals whose genetic makeup is capable of producing a Tyrant, Sergei became the genetic model for the majority of Umbrella's Tyrant program, beyond the T-001 and T-002 projects initiated by the team led by Albert Wesker and William Birkin. To further produce more Tyrants Sergei allowed Umbrella to make 10 clones of himself. Sergei also ordered the re-engineering of two T-103 Tyrants in order to produce his personal bodyguards, known as "Ivan".[3]

On Spencer's orders Sergei was personally involved in the events surrounding the outbreak in Raccoon City. At the Arklay Training Facility, Sergei dispatched one of his "Ivan" Tyrants to kill Albert Wesker for failing to save the facility from James Marcus' attack. At the Spencer Mansion he was tasked with recovering the Talos prototype, which eventually became one of Umbrella's most impressive bio-organic weapons. When Raccoon City itself was overrun, Sergei recovered the Red Queen data core from Umbrella's laboratory, allowing the company to recover from the loss of their Raccoon installations.[4]

After Umbrella was forced to go underground, Sergei was put in charge of Umbrella's new base of operations in the Caucasus region of southern Russia. In 2003, this stronghold came under attack by troops led by Chris Redfield and Jill Valentine. Despite unleashing the most powerful bio-organic weapons that Umbrella had to offer, including Talos, Sergei was unable to repel the assault. He ultimately met his end at the hands of Albert Wesker, who had also infiltrated the facility.

[edit] Lisa Trevor

Lisa Trevor is a character in Resident Evil and The Umbrella Chronicles. She is the daughter of George Trevor, a famed architect who designed the Arklay Research Facility. After George discovers that the mansion is actually hosting a secret underground laboratory, Spencer kidnaps him and his family. While his henchmen kill off George, his wife and daughter are used as test subjects for the Umbrella Corporation's viral experiments.

Lisa spends nearly 30 years in captivity, undergoing several horrific experiments that rob her of her humanity. She develops uncanny abilities that make her stronger, and in essence, immortal. Trevor also proves to be the key in the development of Birkin's G-Virus, as she becomes one of the few living specimens to successfully adapt and absorb it. Lisa loses her mind during this period, and becomes obsessed with finding her mother, who perished years before. Wesker, then one of Umbrella's top research scientists, orders his personnel to dispose of Trevor. However, she survives her execution, and wanders the mansion's grounds in hopes of finding her mother. Nearly a decade later, Trevor encounters various S.T.A.R.S members, before finding Wesker in the mansion. Wesker escapes the Mansion's self-destruction, where Lisa is supposedly killed.

[edit] Red Queen

Red Queen (voiced by Tara Platt) is a supercomputer owned by the Umbrella Corporation. She stores all the combat data of the corporation. Until July 1998, it was located in the Arklay Research Facility in the Raccoon Forest, but it was transported in a helicopter commanded by Vladimir to save it from the destruction of the Facility, and again to save it from the city. Its data was backed up to Umbrella's mainframe, U.M.F.-013. Later, it was also used to control the T.A.L.O.S project. Wesker killed Vladimir and stole all the data from the Red Queen, saving it on a disk. Before abandoning the facility, all data was erased and Red Queen was shut down.

[edit] T-A.L.O.S

T-A.L.O.S (Tyrant - Armored Lethal Organic System), occasionally spelled as Talos, is the ultimate bio-organic weapon, created by the Umbrella Corporation.

The Umbrella research team stationed at the Arklay Research Facility originally conceived of the Talos as their answer to the European Nemesis. Before it could be completed, development was interrupted by the T-Virus outbreak caused by Marcus. Realizing that the facility's days were numbered, Spencer ordered Vladimir to recover the Talos prototype so that its research would not be wasted. This was done, and the prototype was safely brought back into Umbrella's hands before the facility was destroyed by Wesker.

After Raccoon City was destroyed, the Umbrella Corporation was forced underground and most of its activities were shut down. The Talos project was moved to Umbrella's Russian branch. The Talos was tested against a special forces unit, two armored vehicles, and an attack helicopter, making Talos the ultimate B.O.W.

The idea behind the Talos project is the creation of a highly advanced bio-weapon that could be effectively controlled, which relies on chip connections to brain cells, making it remotely controllable. Talos is equipped with specialized combat firepower and armor. Even while armed with heavy weaponry, it has mobility unthinkable in a natural organism.

It was ultimately defeated by Chris Redfield and Jill Valentine, during a raid on a Russian Umbrella facility commanded by Vladimir.

[edit] Ivan

Ivan is a modified T-103 Tyrant, created by Vladimir. It serves as his personal bodyguard and has a higher level of intelligence and obedience than previous Tyrants. Two of these Tyrants were released to kill Wesker.
