[edit] Plot
ACT 1 After a strange, half-mentioned turn of events, Richie and Eddie are about to meet the queen. Richie is very excited over it while Eddie doesn't seem to care. When the Queen is rallying through Hammersmith, they think it would please her to get out their penis' and set off a massive firworks display, which is a mixture of rockets and semtex, which leads to the unexpected explosion. Act 1 ends here at a cliffhanger.
ACT 2 Act 2 finds them in jail. The charges were:
- Attempted asphyxiation of the entire population of West London
- detonation 400lbs of Semtex under contravention of the Anti-Terrorist act
- Attempted regicide
- Arson
- causing an affray
- wiggling their "todgers" at the Queen
They are faced with a problem in jail: they are trying to escape a certain criminal called "Mr Big" after he takes an unfortunate "liking" to Richie. They eventually escape the prison just in time for the Queen to come round for tea. In the end they accidentally blow up the queen as well as themselves.
[edit] Trivia
- In all the live Bottom feats there has never been more "cock-ups" than in this particular one, which normally at some point leads to a random member of the audience shouting "Have a wank" this normally get a wide recepted laugh, and happens in every live show.
- Towards the beginning of the second half - in jail - Richie (somewhat out of character) says to Eddie (also quite out of character): "You know that great gag with the watch? I forgot to put my watch on. FUCK!". It is unknown whether this was in the script or if Rik Mayall genuinely forgot to put on his watch. Edmonson replies "...Well that's shagged that one then!"
- In Act Two, Rik Mayall mocks an audience member after he shouted "Have a wank" to Mayall. Once Mayall finished the mockery, Ade Edmondson asked "Have you finished yet? Just I'm beginning to understand why Stephen Fry fucked off." This was a reference to Fry walking out of a West End play, in which Mayall was his co-star. The real reason for Fry's exit was actually a result of his suffering from depression and cyclothymia.
- In Act Two, while Eddie and Richie are engaged in a fight, Rik accidentally hits Ade in the testicles. It took a while for Edmondson to recover while Rik appologized to Ade: "I'm sorry, I'm sorry" to which Ade replied: "That's fine, I've got three fucking kids already anyway". Upon picking up the plot again, Rik wanted to skip to the next gag and skip over the fighting, to which Ade suggested: "no way, it's my turn now"...
