IMDb profile

Beer: The Movie (2006) is an independent film produced in the Long Island indie rock scene. Updating the sketch comedy movie genre popularized by such films as Kentucky Fried Movie and The Groove Tube, director Peter Hoare leads his team of jokesters through a series of light-hearted comedy sketches intercut with footage of their rowdy keg parties. In stark contrast to the bawdiness of Kentucky Fried Movie or the vulgarity of reality-skit show Jackass, Beer: The Movie strikes a unique tone of sincere and good-natured comedy. In many ways, the film evokes the heartfelt tone[citation needed] previously demonstrated by fellow Long Island indie rockers Brand New, Taking Back Sunday, and The Sleeping, all of whom have contributed to the film's soundtrack and/or movie score, although none are actually played in the movie.

Beer The Movie: Not every indie rock kid can be an awesome musician, the rest of them must rely on wit and charm to score babes. Nowhere is the competition to impress girls with dumb humor more fierce than in the malls and parking lots of Long Island, where 8 young men have risen to the top of the game and cultivated their rapier-wits into uproarious comedy. From their cult-comedy show The Gigolo to their BEER series on FUSE, the boys have proven they’ve got what it takes to create laughter and joy worldwide.
