[edit] Plot

The film begins in 20 BC in what is now modern day Libya as a Bedouin Leader and his sons make their way to the mountains, the Leader has a long golden staff, the Eye of the Medusa which contains the most beautiful diamond in both Human and Animal Worlds. As they make their way towards the lair of a dormant creature, they pass several statues which are the victims of the Basilisk, the king of serpents.

The father tells his sons to remember their courage and to remember in the coming darkness, the gods will be watching over them. The moon is now rising towards the sun, signaling an eclipse. The father begins to chant and so do his sons as the moon eclipses the sun. The ground begins to shake and one of the sons gets on his knees and starts to pray because he and the others are blindfolded to protect themselves from the gaze of the Basilisk. The Basilisk emerges from its cave and bows to the sons before killing all of them, only to be turned to stone by the Eye of the Medusa and buried by a rockfall.

The film then moves to present day Libya where Dr. Harrison Harry McColl (Jeremy London), Rudy Skeeters (Griff Furst), and Sierra Martinez,(Sarah Skeeters) are digging up the remains of the site where the Basilisk attack occurred. McColl finds the bodies of many of the victims and believes that they are just statues, and then he finds the Eye of the Medusa along with the petrified Basilisk. The crew decides to take what they have and return to Colorado. Back in Colorado, Dr.Carlton, (Stephen Furst), congratulates McColl on his discovery and introduces him to Rachel Donovan,(Wendy Carter), who will be teaching his class at the University of Colorado. McColl tells Donovan about the upcoming exhibit at the Muesem of Pueblo Springs and even arranges a date with her. At the Muesem, Carlton introduces McColl, Sierra and Rudy to Hannah Carmelina Santorini Frankman, (Yancy Butler) and her husband Brock,(Doug Dearth).

Hannah says that she is very proud of McColl and his successful expedition and she mentions that her donations helped to fund the expedition. The exhibit is revealed just as Donovan arrives and meets up with McColl. The exhibit is thrown into chaos as an eclipse begins, causing the Eye of the Medusa and the Basilisk's eyes to glow. The Basilisk reanimates, and quickly kills two guests.

The guests panic, and though guards shoot attempt to stop the Basilisk but are unsuccessful. Hannah immediately takes advantage of the Basilisk attack and steals the Eye of the Medusa before leaving the museum. Sierra grabs the Eye of the Medusa and struggles to get it out of Hannah's grasp. The Basilisk intervenes, quickly killing Sierra. The museum collapses, with Hannah and Brock barely making it out alive. While under the rubble, Donovan finds McColl and they escape via an underground tunnel. Followed by a security guard, they are lead into an underground street sewer. Though the security guard is killed, McColl and Donovon manage to get to the surface. When they reach the surface, they are introduced to Captain Michael Bergen and his men and Captain Bergen takes over, sending two men into the tunnel. The Basilisk waits down the tunnel and constricts one of the men, and the other one is swallowed alive.Meanwhile,Hannah and Brock escape from the sewer in which they had been traveling in to get out of the muesem and exit onto the street.
