Awake: The Best of Live is Live's best of album, released in 2004. The 19-track compilation CD includes tracks from Live's 1991 debut (see Mental Jewelry) to 2003's Birds of Pray, as well as an unreleased track from the Throwing Copper recording sessions, We Deal in Dreams. The deluxe edition includes a DVD containing 22 music videos and a 30-minute interview with Ed Kowalczyk. The cover features a still from the video for the song "Lightning Crashes."

On the album, "Pain Lies on the Riverside" and "Pillar of Davidson" were shortened due to time constraints.
The European release of Awake does not feature the songs "Pain Lies on the Riverside" and "Pillar of Davidson", but instead contains "They Stood Up for Love" (acoustic version) and "The Distance" between "Run to the Water" and "Dance With You."
Similarly, the Australian release contains "Rattlesnake" (following "Turn My Head") and "They Stood Up for Love" (following "Run to the Water"), also replacing "Pain Lies on the Riverside" and "Pillar of Davidson."
