Eoin Colfer has confirmed that there will be a sixth Artemis Fowl book named Artemis Fowl: The Time Paradox. The release date for the UK is set for 7 August 2008; the US is set for 15 July 2008.[1] In Colfer's video blogs, he mentions the book saying it may not be the last but the last one for at least 3 years.[2]

[edit] Plot

Eoin Colfer has said in an online interview that the book will have Artemis's mother sick and dying. She needs brain fluid from an extinct animal. Artemis himself had killed the last of that kind of animal a few years earlier. To get the LEP to let him time travel, Artemis makes Holly think that it's her fault that his mother is dying. When Artemis goes back in time, he sees a younger version of himself (when he was still rude and mean and cared only about gold). This time Artemis must face the most dangerous of all opponents, himself.[3]

[edit] Information from Colfer

  • Eoin Colfer has confirmed that the book will be named Artemis Fowl: The Time Paradox.
  • Colfer has also stated that the two siblings of Artemis Fowl are both boys, with the names Myles and Beckett,[4] but had earlier stated that he had been leaning toward Jonathan and Finian.[5]
  • It has been stated that this book will fully explain the Hamburg event, mentioned in the first book.
  • Colfer has stated that the action will take place in Finland, Ireland, Scotland and Morocco, and will involve a creature that has slept for millennia, more time travel, irritating younger twin brothers, and an evil hypno-therapist called Dr. Kronski.[4]
  • The first chapter will take place at Helsinki Harbour. [6]
  • Advance copies of the Time Paradox are being given away as part of a competition on Eoin Colfer's site.
