American Ninja 2: The Confrontation is a 1987 action/adventure sequel starring Michael Dudikoff, Steve James, Jeff Weston, Gary Conway, Michelle Botes and Larry Poindexter. It was directed by Sam Firstenberg and written by Gideon Amir, James Booth, Gary Conway and Avi Kleinberger.

Now promoted to Army Rangers, Joe Armstrong and Curtis Jackson are sent to aid the Marine Corps investigate the disappearance of many of its soldiers. Upon arriving, they are not met with open arms by the Marines. While being given a tour, Armstrong and Jackson are set up by a Marine mole sent by a crimelord named "The Lion", who is experimenting on the kidnapped Marines for his super soldier project. Ninjas appear and attack both Joe and Jackson, but escape. Upon their report, their claims are discarded. Joe uncovers the mole Marine named Taylor who is killed by a ninja before revealing anything to Joe. Even more suspicious, he enlists the help of Alicia, a daughter of a kidnapped scientist working for "The Lion", and Todo, a freelance boy employed by the Marines as a tour guide, Joe manages to get into stronghold of "The Lion" and attempts to rescue the kidnapped Marines.
