Thank you, not! – i123Pie biocontribs 18:13, 8 April 2008 (UTC)
In light of the abuse of editing privileges through your mis-use of Twinkle, I have removed your access to this tool for one week, after which you may revert the last change I made to your monobook to return your Twinkle functionality.
With regards to your nomination of an article for deletion, please make background checks before nominating an article for deletion - use Google or another search engine to check for notability first. Please do not ignore comments from the creator of the article when they make a comment on your talk page, this is exceedingly rude. Nick (talk) 18:18, 8 April 2008 (UTC)
It was and accident, and i told them that. – i123Pie biocontribs 18:24, 8 April 2008 (UTC)
Out of all fairness i have cleared my cache and disabled the gadget in my preferences. There is something wrong with my monobook.js anyway twinkle dont work via that. Soz for any probs. – i123Pie biocontribs 10:28, 9 April 2008 (UTC)
I have enabled twinkle in my gadgets tab so I can use the tag function on friendly, but if you see me use twinkle this week, just block me. Friendly don't work properly without Twinkle. 地獄からパイ 17:32, 10 April 2008 (UTC)
I have said sorry about that now, I was a bit stressed. – i123Pie biocontribs 10:28, 9 April 2008 (UTC)
Do I get it back today or tomorrow? – ThatWikiGuy (talk) 16:58, 15 April 2008 (UTC)
Today. Just revert back to the last version before I blanked it. Nick (talk) 17:03, 15 April 2008 (UTC)

I am not quite sure. Maybe there was a link to it on the support scribblewiki and I followed. To be honest, I can't quite remember. Maximillion Pegasus (talk) 18:06, 14 April 2008 (UTC)
OK, thanks anyway. – ThatWikiGuy (talk) 18:12, 14 April 2008 (UTC)

Thank you for correcting the license. Much of what I downloaded years ago was not so strictly regulated as it is now--for the better, of course! Thank you. By the way, I did edit the photo extensively that I took with my digital camera.--Drboisclair (talk) 15:49, 16 April 2008 (UTC)

[edit] AIV report

Regarding your recent AIV report, I find it unlikely their edits are vandalism, nor a spambot or compromised account. They are most likely using AWB, and given the users record, I declined the report. Please be more careful when considering reporting in future. Steve Crossin (talk) (anon talk) 10:35, 17 April 2008 (UTC)

Well I have just been going through his contribs in logs, they seem rather 'scattered'. Anyway, thanks. Can you give me some advice? – ThatWikiGuy (talk|life) 10:39, 17 April 2008 (UTC)

I'll give you advice. Try contacting the editor you have a problem with in the future first rather than rashly reporting one of the most proficient editors on wikipedia as a vandal ♦ Dr. Blofeld ♦ "Visit Mr. Bigglesworth?" 10:46, 17 April 2008 (UTC)

I'd suggest you assume good faith, and, if you have concerns, to first raise them with the user. AIV is for persistent, blatant vandalism only. It's not the place for reporting anything. Regards, Steve Crossin (talk) (anon talk) 10:48, 17 April 2008 (UTC)

Well, I put compromised account because i thought somebody had hacked into his account. Thank you. – ThatWikiGuy (talk|life) 10:52, 17 April 2008 (UTC)

I wouldn't exactly call Yury Gulyayev vandalism. Its a standard stub which can be developed eventually into a fuller article. I can see it was an honest mistake though. But yes take the advice given above. ♦ Dr. Blofeld ♦ "Visit Mr. Bigglesworth?" 10:52, 17 April 2008 (UTC)

I was on about the Urals State Academy of... articles, they were to frequent and i thought a bot was doing it. – ThatWikiGuy (talk|life) 10:58, 17 April 2008 (UTC)
  • I was under the impression that he was using AWB, commonly used to create new articles. Correct me if I am wrong, Blofeld of SPECTRE. Steve Crossin (talk) (anon talk) 11:00, 17 April 2008 (UTC)
But wouldn't 'using AWB' show in his edit summaries? – ThatWikiGuy (talk|life) 11:06, 17 April 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Orphaned non-free media (Image:Minigate-activated.jpg)

Thanks for uploading Image:Minigate-activated.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. NotifyBot (talk) 14:30, 17 April 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Stargate (device)

I would strongly suggest that when editors are trying to make articles compliant with Wikipedia policies by removing excessive non-free images, that you not revert them, and especially with edit summaries of "vandalism". BKNFCC 18:21, 17 April 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Speedy deletion of What is prod - prod test

Thank you for experimenting with Wikipedia. Your test worked, and the page that you created has been or soon will be deleted. Please use the sandbox for any other tests you want to do. Take a look at the welcome page if you would like to learn more about contributing to our encyclopedia

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the article does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that a copy be emailed to you. STORMTRACKER 94 Go Irish! 20:27, 2 May 2008 (UTC)

didnt give me a chance, i said i was gunna' delete it. – ThatWikiGuy (talk | life | "I got my eye on you") 20:29, 2 May 2008 (UTC)
This should be done in the userpage. Wikipedia experiments should never be done in the mainspace. STORMTRACKER 94 Go Irish! 20:46, 2 May 2008 (UTC)
I tried it the the userspace but Twinkle don't give the prod tab on the userspace. What is Prod, anyway? – ThatWikiGuy (talk | life | "I got my eye on you") 23:10, 2 May 2008 (UTC)
PROD is Wikipedia:Proposed deletion. Fvasconcellos (t·c) 00:51, 3 May 2008 (UTC)
So the same as AfD? – ThatWikiGuy (talk|I feel like I'm being watched) 01:05, 3 May 2008 (UTC)
No, not the same as AfD at all. PROD does not involve discussion; roughly, it's halfway between speedy deletion and AfD. If a page does not meet WP:CSD but is so clearly inappropriate that AfD would probably result in a "delete" outcome, the article may be tagged with {{subst:prod}} and, after five days, an admin will delete it. IF someone believes the article shouldn't be deleted, they may simply remove the tag at any time during the five-day period. Did you read the link I gave above? Fvasconcellos (t·c) 14:03, 3 May 2008 (UTC)
OK, I get it. Thanks. – ThatWikiGuy (talk|I feel like I'm being watched) 14:08, 3 May 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Your sig

You have a few problems with your signature that need to be fixed. First, you cannot have a external link in your signature, no matter what the link looks like, you cannot link outside of Wikipedia in your signature. Also, you cannot transclude templates or user subpages in your signature, thus you need to remove that part of your signature. All the relevant info can be found at WP:SIG. Thanks, « Gonzo fan2007 (talkcontribs) @ 23:57, 2 May 2008 (UTC)

1) It links to wikia, which I have heard is ok.
2) I plan to update my watchlist message (telling people that there talkpage iks now in my watchlist) everyday so this ways easier, plus on talk pages it just shows the message of the day when it was posted, the code on the pages will not show that it was from a sub page. – ThatWikiGuy (talk | life | I feel like I'm being watched) 00:08, 3 May 2008 (UTC)
First, #2 needs to go. There is no debate on that. You cannot have a page transcluded in your signature. The reason is that every time you update the subpage, the servers have to change every instance of your signature, every time it is changed! This is hard on the servers, especially if we allowed everyone to do it, thus we do not allow anyone to do it. Also, that page is a target for vandalism, imagine if someone put an offensive picture on that page, that picture would show everywhere your signature is. #1 is debatable, yet Wikia is an external link, it is not affiliated with Wikipedia in any way except they have the same founder. Both need to go. « Gonzo fan2007 (talkcontribs) @ 00:21, 3 May 2008 (UTC)
Also, if you could calm down with the whole "bullshit" thing, that would be helpful. « Gonzo fan2007 (talkcontribs) @ 00:24, 3 May 2008 (UTC)
the servers have to change every instance of your signature, every time it is changed!, no they don't, as it's subst and i would know if somebody put a picture in as i usually preview my comments first. that picture would show everywhere your signature is. as i said i usually preview my comments first. Read WP:SUBST. plus the external link is not surrounded my promo writing. I don't see anything wrong. – ThatWikiGuy (talk | life | I feel like I'm being watched) 00:30, 3 May 2008 (UTC)
First off, I understand what subst'ing is, you didnt make it clear that you were subst it. This is still unnecessary strain on the servers, as every time you make a comment that servers have to call on the subpage, and then subst it to the page you are commenting on. Second of all, you need to remove the external link, "Do not include links to external websites in your signature" is pretty dang clear that you need to remove it, no matter your reasoning you have. You are getting very WP:POINTY here, I ask you again, please revert to a policy-abiding version and then feel free to try and change policy. Also, in response to your comment on WP:RFPP, the only way to change law is not by making a point, and usually when people do break the laws, they are thrown in jail. I would really hate to do that over this. « Gonzo fan2007 (talkcontribs) @ 00:52, 3 May 2008 (UTC)
Well, I will remove the external link, but I'm keeping the subst'ing and the community can have a consensus over the policy, if it ends it to keep the policy i will remove it then. What I'm doing now to wikipedia policy is what has gone on for years with laws, without these actions the penalty for stealing an apple will still be death. – ThatWikiGuy (talk|I feel like I'm being watched) 01:00, 3 May 2008 (UTC)
Thank you for the external link removal. Do you really want me to block you for this? You are disrupting Wikipedia by making a WP:POINT, both which will lead to a block. Remember, Wikipedia is not a democracy, it does not matter what countries have been doing for years with their laws, what matters is what Wikipedia consensus says, which right now is that you are not allowed to have any type of template in your signature. If you want to try and change policy, than by all means do so, personally I dont care. But so long as Wikipedia policy is as it is right now, you are breaking it, while also disrupting Wikipedia by trying to prove your point. So I ask for the last time, please remove the template from your signature. If you fail to abide by our policies, I will personally block you. « Gonzo fan2007 (talkcontribs) @ 01:11, 3 May 2008 (UTC)
Your the one who's disrupting Wikipedia by going on about it, anyway can we talk about this tomorrow as I'm tired (its 2:15 am where I am) – ThatWikiGuy (talk|I feel like I'm being watched) 01:15, 3 May 2008 (UTC)
Sure, please do understand though that this is something you need to do, I really would hate to block you for something like this. Have a good night. « Gonzo fan2007 (talkcontribs) @ 02:08, 3 May 2008 (UTC)

That's funny as there everywhere on the net, so I came to the conclusion you just uploaded from one of the "funny pictures" sites, then that means they are not under GNU Free license. <unrelated>Why do you mass create pages?</unrelated> – ThatWikiGuy (talk|I feel like I'm being watched) 10:50, 3 May 2008 (UTC)
Because Wikipedia is an encyclopedia, our main goal is to create articles and improve them, not to delete. The question whether minimalist stubs are useful has been discussed many, many times, and the consensus is: yes, there are useful, and are not at all a problem (see also WP:PAPER). Mass creation of encyclopedic content is welcome. Happy editing (in article space particularly), Cenarium (talk) 16:12, 7 May 2008 (UTC)
You but maybe he should use {{subst:PAGENAME}} instead of {{PAGENAME}}. – ThatWikiGuy (talk) 16:01, 8 May 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Speedy deletion

Per the Lead paragraph of Wikipedia:Criteria for speedy deletion, Contributors sometimes create articles over several edits, so try to avoid deleting a page too soon after its creation if it appears incomplete. Adding a CSD tag to an article one minute after it's creation is not a good idea, especially when the article has an {{inuse}} tag! In addition, User:Rlandmann is an admin, and probably knows what he's doing when he starts an article that way. It would probably be a good idea if you withdraw your CSD nomination, and make an apology to Rlandmann. Thanks, and please look more carefully before you CSD. - BillCJ (talk) 20:01, 3 May 2008 (UTC)

Yeah, but it looked like a test page as it had no context at all. – ThatWikiGuy (talk|I feel like I'm being watched) 20:04, 3 May 2008 (UTC)
The "inuse" tag should have told you that wasn't the case. Anyway, the creator has deleted the page, and moved another article there to be expanded. - BillCJ (talk) 20:12, 3 May 2008 (UTC)
I know what it looked like - which is why it had an {{inuse}} tag in place. Except for cases of really blatant vandalism, you should refrain from tagging or making any other changes to an article marked as inuse - you could cause another editor to lose a considerable amount of work in an edit conflict. No harm done today, but please be more careful in future. --Rlandmann (talk) 20:15, 3 May 2008 (UTC)
From your comments, TWG, I gather you only saw the first version of the page, as the {{inuse}} tag was added on the second edit. - BillCJ (talk) 21:01, 3 May 2008 (UTC)
OK, I have apologized to him Can we leave it at that? – ThatWikiGuy (talk|I feel like I'm being watched) 17:24, 4 May 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Speedy deletion

Your addition of speedy deletion tag to Shabab al-Muomineen seemed to have been done as a consequence of poor knowledge of the article's content. Additionally it made an edit conflict. Please be more careful and patient next time. --TheFEARgod (Ч) 12:30, 5 May 2008 (UTC)
