[edit] Promo performances
- Thanks for your message. I removed the lists of performances because it wasn't really clear what they were, nor if they were (or whether they could be) complete. Other articles on singles don't usually include such lists, but if you could make a case for them they could go back in. --Mel Etitis (Μελ Ετητης) 20:01, 29 January 2006 (UTC)

Tokio Hot 100 is a radio station in Japan. It is not the Japanese charts. Charmed36 25 July 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Ain't No Other Man
Hello =) I've trimmed some of the charts on that page. My edit will probably be reverted by an IP soon, so I'll keep the page on my watchlist! — getcrunk what?! 01:48, 31 July 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Jump
dont be mad because the USA release date was first in the jump single page...the reason y it was first is because it was first anounced that the single would be released first in america on august 28 then it was changed many more times...so it was just a mistake not that we dont like or consider other places' releases Rsf7589 20:53, 10 October 2006 (UTC)
- Is that correct? I was under the impression that "Jump" was to be released in Canada first (October 31). Velten 01:41, 28 October 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Sorry (Madonna song)
The source is no longer online, but was published earlier this year when the song appeared at position number fifty-three. The BDS Airplay Chart should only be used when a song was not issued commercially in Canada; "Sorry" was issued commercially and appeared beneath the singles chart. It's the same as appearing beneath the Billboard Hot 100. Velten 20:27, 16 December 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Shania Twain Centre
Thank you for cleaning up the Shania Twain Centre page. I've been editing this one pretty much on my own. It was nice to get some outside help. --Renrenren 05:11, 17 December 2006 (UTC)
- Thanks for adding the STC to the Shania Twain template. That was a really good idea and one that will probably drum up some extra traffic to that page. Renrenren 19:19, 19 January 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Shania Twain images
Hi, thank you for uploading the images of Shania Twain. But some or all of them may not qualify as fair use under Wikipedia guidelines because Shania is a living celebrity, and finding a free alternative for living celebrities is not considered unreasonably difficult.
The images I've tagged are:
- Image:Stwain.jpg
- Image:Superbowl.jpg
- Image:Iggg8.JPG
- Image:Tdimm2.JPG
- Image:Wim.JPG
If you disagree, you can leave a dispute tag at the image page, and explain why creating a free image may be too difficult, more so than, say, Justin Timberlake.
Also, since you're using the images to discuss Shania, it's probable that only one image of Shania would qualify as fair use. One image would be sufficient to show what she looks like, and other images would be considered decorative and not informative, and therefore not fair use. Thank you. Mosmof 14:11, 21 January 2007 (UTC)
- Sorry, I should have responded to you sooner. First, I made a mistake of tagging the images - I didn't realize they were all used on the articles for individual articles.
- As far as fair use, the screencaps on Janet Jackson and Madonna articles are also not fair use, IMHO, and should be removed. I believe the fair use is valid for use on music video pages, just not for the artist, since they aren't needed for identification and replacements can be made. Mosmof 22:41, 24 January 2007 (UTC)
[edit] "Discussion"
Except there is no actual discussion of the content of the videos, which is what the screenshots show. If I discuss a controversial event on a TV show, then I might need a screenshot, or an historically significant scene from a film. If I don't discuss anything there is no need for unfree images, which try to keep to an minimum. Hope this makes things clearer, ed g2s • talk 11:04, 7 February 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Vancouver Courier article on WikiProject Vancouver
Greetings,
My name is Chris LaVigne. I'm a freelance journalist working on a story for the Vancouver Courier on Wikipedia and the WikiProject Vancouver in particular. I want to talk to people from the Lower Mainland who contribute to Wikipedia, and was hoping you'd like to meet some time next week for a chat. Email me back if you're interested-- lavigne.chris(at)gmail.com. I appreciate any help you can give me.
Cheers

[edit] note re: fair use and copyright for record reviews
I've noticed that you are including long quotes of billboard magazine reviews in your Shania Twain songs, which look to be the entire review as published in the magazine. This is almost certainly not fair use, and definitely not compatible with wikipedia's aim, which is to create an encyclopedia of free content. I'm working through your articles on the singles and eliminating the block quotes in favor of a summary with a representative shorter quote. Calliopejen1 07:36, 18 July 2007 (UTC)
- Could you go through and finish these yourself? I'm not a big Shania fan (unfortunately) and am getting exhausted of rewording them. Since I don't have the energy to reword more, I'll give you a day or two and then check back--if they haven't been taken care of, I'll just remove the offending sections. [edit] LUV
A tag has been placed on LUV, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a very short article providing little or no context to the reader. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.
Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself. If you plan to expand the article, you can request that administrators wait a while for you to add contextual material. To do this, affix the template {{hangon}}
to the article and state your intention on the article's talk page. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this.
By the way... it's not personal. I'm actually a Janet fan, and I think "LUV" is a hotter song than "Rock With U," but you gotta have some sources to back it up before you put the article out there. Peace! Souldier77 (talk) 07:50, 17 February 2008 (UTC)
- My bad. Thnx. Souldier77 (talk) 08:02, 17 February 2008 (UTC)
[edit] re: Can't B Good
A song getting some airplay doesn't mean that it will be released as a single. This happens a lot with tracks on a newly-released album. Is there a confirmation from the label or a source stating it will be released as a single? The album has just been released, is there an official announcement about a fourth single already? - eo (talk) 03:54, 13 March 2008 (UTC)
- I really disagree that this needs an article this soon, but if you insist, go ahead. I would, however, find a different way to source this. A hosted screenshot on photobucket really isn't reliable, ya know? - eo (talk) 15:46, 13 March 2008 (UTC)

- I have to agree. A scanned image completely violates WP:Verify. Bookkeeperoftheoccult (talk) 02:14, 16 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Discipline (Janet Jackson Album)
This is a singles chart. At first, I thought it may have been an album chat- believing the reason it mentions singles is because those were the albums LEAD singles, but this is only true of Feedback/Discipline. None of the other singles listed on the chart are the lead singles from their respective albums, which leads me to believe this is a singles chart, rather than an album chart. In either case, I don't believe the source is reliable overall and probably should not be included in the article.Bookkeeperoftheoccult (talk) 02:09, 16 March 2008 (UTC)

See the Janet talk page about setting up a wikiproject. --Realist2 (Come Speak To Me) 23:10, 23 May 2008 (UTC)
Hey, take a look at the JJ talk page. Consider putting the article on your watchlist to keep up to date with the dialogue, your input would be great, cheers. --— Realist2 (Come Speak To Me) 21:19, 30 May 2008 (UTC)
The only problem is, when I click on it, it always appears as a dead link, therefore I cant see it and cannot find out its style or reliability, I can only read the link which doesnt look impartial. --— Realist2 (Come Speak To Me) 20:44, 3 June 2008 (UTC)
ODD, it actually works now? WTF, readd it and ill see if it works on the article. Cheers. --— Realist2 (Come Speak To Me) 20:54, 3 June 2008 (UTC)
