Thavinjal

Thavinjal is one of the oldest villages in Wayanad district, in the northeast of Kerala, India. It is formally known as aranguthum chall, meaning the place for cultural programs.

Agriculture is the mainstay of the economy. Coffee, black pepper and vanilla are the main cash crops. St. Thomas U.P. school and St. Mary's church are near the town.

Thavinjal is on the Mananthavady-Thavinjal road. Buses and taxi Jeeps go frequently between important centres from the Manthavady post office junction.

The nearest hospital is the Mananthavady District Hospital. The nearest ATMs are at the Federal Bank of India and the State Bank of India in Mananthavady.
