Mawlamyaing Bridge via Thanlwin River Mon State connects the capital city of Mawlamyine with Mottama. It is the longest bridge in ever constructed Burma. Construction began on 18 March 2000 and the bridge was opened on 18 April 2005, though its estimated completion was 2008.

Mawlamyaing bridge was designed by local engineers under the Ministry of Construction, Burma. The bridge is designed to connect Mawlamyaing, and Mottama in three ways of access,a two laned road, a rail track and two sidewalks. The main structure of the bridge is 7,699 feet long. For the two laned road bridge, the South side approach road on Mawlamyine bank is 1,624 feet long and the North side one on Mottama bank is 2,252 feet long, total length of motor bridge is 11,575 ft or 2.2 miles.
