"Thank You" was the third single from British R&B star Jamelia's second album Thank You. The song, released in the UK on February 24, 2004, became Jamelia's highest charting single in the UK to date, peaking at #2, and spending 14 weeks within the whole UK Singles Chart, and kept off the top spot a re-release of Peter Andre's "Mysterious Girl". The song also became her second top 10 hit in Australia. Following the release of this single, the album Thank You was re-released, peaking at #4 in the UK Albums Chart. The song was quite successful in the likes of Australia, New Zealand, Finland and Ireland, peaking inside the top 20. In France, the single was released as a duet with French singer Singuila.

The song is about an abusive relationship, of which Jamelia had first hand experience. The song discusses that relationship and how she made it through such a difficult time and experience[1] [2].

[edit] Music Video

Many critics saw the song as source of strength and inspiration [3], which is why in the music video, she is depicted as the four elements. She commented that when thinking of ideas for the music video she wanted to focus on the positive side of the song, not the negative.
