Thangam is a Tamil movie starring Sathyaraj and Goundamani about the life of a village do-gooder in Tamil Nadu.[1]

Thangam (Sathyaraj), is a rich feudal landlord with a fun-loving uncle Kaalai (Goundamani), by his side. Thangam showers all his love and affection on his sister Bagyalakshmi (Jayashree). Soon he meets Meenakshi (Megha Nair) and love blossoms into marriage. The bad guys led by Arusamy (Shanmugarajan) rapes Thangam's sister and he is forced to give her in marriage to him and also later has to go to prison to save her marriage!. He returns from jail only to see his sister killed by Arusamy and his men and vows to take the baddies by using tact and wins the battle!
