Thalore (Malayalam: തലോര്) is a village situated 9km south of Thrissur, in the center of Kerala (Malayalam: കേരളം) state, India.

The Infant Jesus Roman Catholic Syrian Church, Chakkamkulangara Dharma Sastha Temple, Sri Mahadeva Temple, Krishna Temple and Jerusalam Retreat Center are some major cultural centers of the village.
[edit] Etymology
Since Thalore is situated at a slightly higher altitude compared to neighbouring villages it got the name Thaloor (Malayalam: തലൂര്) from the two Malayalam words തല(meaning head) and ഊര്(meaning place). Thaloor later became Thalore.

The Infant Jesus Church is located at 96 feet, that is the highest in the village. From there, the terrain slowly tapering down towards all sides. At the village boundary, it is around 30 feet from the sea level.

[edit] Transportation
Old NH-47 to Thrissur is passing through Thalore centre. New NH-47 by-pass to Palakkad is now the south-east boundary. Thaikkattussery road connects old NH-47 from Thalore centre to Thaikkattusery.
Both KSRTC and private bus services connect Thalore to Thrissur in north and Amballur, Pudukkad, Kodakara and Chalakkudy in the south.
Nearest railway stations are Ollur and Pudukkad stations where local passenger services stop. Express trains are available from Thrissur.

In 1970s, the paddy fields became economically non-viable. Soon they were turned into clay brick farms. Thalore and its neighbouring places became the epicenter of this clay brick business. Till today it is the major source of income for common man of the village.
Like any other village in Kerala, Thalore also got significant non-resident kerala community who also bring resources here.

- Navajyothi college - parallel college under the management of Holy Family sisters.

Naya Paisa Tile Factory in south of Thalore is one of the first tile factories in Kerala. Now it is demolished and in its place Orma Marbles is located.
Southern Plastics is located in the central part of Thalore near the church and cemetery in the Thaikkattussery route.
Around 10 tile and brick factories operate in Thalore.

First cinema talkies was Rasmi (Malayalam: രശ്മി) by Eduthan family near Southern plastics. It was later demolished at around 1990. Sariga theatre near by-pass is the only one now.

- Punardam Vilakku in Chakkamkulangara Dharmasastha temple. This is one of the poorams to start the week of festivals (POORAKKALAM) which includes poorams at famous temples like Thaikkattussery, Chattakudam, ChittiChattakudam, Peruvanam, Arattupuzha, Edakkunni (Ollur) etc.
- Sivarathri celebrations at Thalore Mahadeva temple.
