Should probably mention references in Friends: Phoebe wore a T-shirt of the show and Marlo Thomas appears as Rachel's mother...I think...

Agreed Sothern on both her shows presented herself as a single girl who was not necessarily looking for a husband especially in the second role where she played an asst mgr of a hotel. The thing was Sothern was quite along in years so perhaps it should be the first YOUNG single woman.
