[edit] History

Stephen Rios initially came up with the name The Filipino Stoners because his nickname was 'The Pinoy Stoner'. He had a group of friends who were also filipino and they all hung out together yet they had to fight off the racism from the white population at the time. So they banded together with another small time street gang called Pinoy Boys and they formed The Filipino Stoners.

By 1969 the gang's notoriety had spread across Oakland. The gang became increasingly violent as they attempted to expand their membership numbers. By the early 1980s the gang was heavily involved with drug trade.
