[edit] During Malaysian Dreamgirl
In The Star Newspaper, it was reported that Elaine Daly remarked, "I would have preferred Hanis (Zalikha Zainal Rashid) to win," "Cindy wasn’t my favourite choice, but the public has voted." Tey appeared shocked when the results were announced, as she had expected the crown to go to second runner-up Hanis. Tey earned negative publicity during the show's airtime. In The Star Newspaper, Malaysia, Tey was quoted as saying, “Though I expected Hanis to win, I still believe I deserve this."
