Texas Memorial Museum

The Texas Memorial Museum is the main exhibit hall of the Texas Natural Science Center at the University of Texas at Austin in Austin, Texas, USA.

The center has produced a collection of 5.7 million specimens in the disciplines of paleontology, geology, biology, herpetology, ichthyology and entomology. The museum has 75,000 visitors annually.[1]

The museum was first opened on January 15, 1939. The building was designed by Paul Cret. Ground was broken for the building by President Franklin D. Roosevelt in 1936.[2]

The museum has won "Best of Austin" award by the Austin Chronicle in 2002 and 2005.[3]
