Texas Argentine Chamber of Commerce

The Texas Argentine Chamber of Commerce (TACC) is a non-profit organization that strives to be active in creating and developing business opportunities between Texas and Argentina through seminars, trade missions and special events.

The members of the TACC cover an ample spectrum of professional companies such as banking, engineering, oil/gas companies, law and accounting firms among others. The current President of the Chamber is Ing. Alejandro C. Giannotti.

The TACC was founded as a non profit organization with the main purpose of :

  • Foster commerce and trade relations between Argentina and Texas.
  • Foster relations between its members and private or public institutions.
  • Through the activities of the Chamber, contribute to the economic growth of its members.
  • Promote free enterprise between its members and other public or private business communities.
  • Promote the interest and well-being of its members.

The Texas Argentine Chamber of Commerce was founded in 1990 by a group of Argentine companies located in Texas.

[edit] Committee Involvement Opportunities

Committee involvement is open to designated representatives of firm members. The purpose is to help develop strategies that will improve the TACC position in Texas and Argentina.

  • Marketing Committee: Primary objective: Develops new strategies and marketing ideas in order to promote the TACC and its objectives.
  • Membership Committee: Primary objective: Serves as the driven force to recruit members.
  • Events Committee: Primary objective: Develops agenda for monthly progress as well as seminar for the current year.
  • Health Care Committee: Primary objective: Serves as the organizer of the Sabbatical Medical Program, also, promotes health care issues with Argentina.
  • Special Tank Force: Primary objective: Committee members are called upon to take action on special issues concerning the Chamber.

The TACC has signed agreements with several organizations in Argentina in order to improve commercial relations among the different Chambers of Commerce. The following are some of the organizations with commercial agreement with the TACC:

  • Camara de Comercio de la Republica Argentina
  • Instituto Argentino del Petroleo
  • Camara de Exportadores de la Republica Argentina
  • Banco de la Provincia Argentina
  • Banco Nacion de la Republica Argentina
  • Shanghai International Marchandising Center, People's Republic of China

[edit] Trade Missions

One of the functions of the Texas Argentine Chamber of Commerce is to prepare and coordinate outbound trade missions to Argentina. The trade missions are usually partnered with other organizations of Houston like the Greater Houston Partnership and the City of Houston.

The TACC has also organized several inbound missions from Argentina to penetrate the Texas market. Some of the inbound missions came from Buenos Aires as well as Mar del Plata, Rosario, Mendoza and the province of Neuquen. The TACC worked closely with the Argentine Consulate of Argentina in Houston in coordinating such inbound missions.
