Texas Annual Conference

The Texas Annual Conference of the United Methodist Church is the conference that covers all the United Methodist churches in East Texas and all the way to Houston and a little bit south of Houston.
It is headquartered in Houston, Texas, with Janice Riggle Huie as the current Bishop.
The Texas Annual Conference is the oldest conference in Texas and includes McMahan Chapel, the oldest Protestant church in Texas, in its area.

The Texas Conference is divided into 9 districts that cover subdivided areas of the conference territory.
There are 9 District Superintendents who are in charge of the districts
The superintendents serve for six years but they can serve for as long as eight in one place
The current superintendent who has served the longest on the cabinet is Keith Whitaker, superintendent of the East District since June 2000.
