TexA.N.S. (Tex & the Anti Nazi Squad) was the name of a band in which, most notably, Tool's Maynard James Keenan played bass guitar for in the '80s. They released a cassette entitled Live At Sons and Daughters Hall (which contained live and studio tracks) and Never Again (which was an all-studio album) both in 1986. Keenan didn't usually sing in this band (although videos spread by means of the internet show him independently singing), but on the Live cassette, he can be heard backing up Tex Porker with the occasional vocal spasm of "Su- suck my ass!!".
The band's lineup included Tex Porker (vocals), Maynard James Keenan (bass), Kevin Horning (guitar), Todd Horning (guitar), Tom Geluso (drums), and Mike Meengs (keyboards).
Members of this band also aided in the creation of Keenan's "project band", Children of the Anachronistic Dynasty. In 1989, in Los Angeles, Maynard James Keenan met Adam Jones and moved on to form another band called Tool.[1]
