[edit] Growing the portal
Is there any general best practice around maximum numbers of items in rotation in the portal? Would 50 selected pictures be too many? Or 20 bios (if we had them)? - PKM (talk) 18:11, 27 April 2008 (UTC)
- Nope. Portal:Film has a bunch more in a few subsections. Cirt (talk) 18:12, 27 April 2008 (UTC)
[edit] New DYK
Swift (textiles) was recently featured, and the articles Mechlin lace, Valenciennes lace, Velcro and Brussels lace have been nominated. The combined hook for Mechlin and Valenciennes lace has been approved, as has that of velcro. Once I can think of a halfway decent hook, Chantilly lace will be nominated too. Loggie (talk) 20:43, 14 May 2008 (UTC)
- I think I already added some of those, but I will double check. Cirt (talk) 20:47, 14 May 2008 (UTC)

- So, Velcro went up on May 15th, 2008 along with a combined Mechlin lace and Valenciennes lace. Brussels lace was May 17th, 2008; Chantilly lace May 19th, 2008. Blonde lace just went up today, and Antwerp lace has been nominated. Loggie (talk) 16:05, 22 May 2008 (UTC)
Done, thanks for the notices. Cirt (talk) 01:14, 27 May 2008 (UTC)
In an attempt to keep you busy, Bucks point lace also went up, and I have nominated three more: Binche lace, torchon lace and nap (textile). Samite also was a DYK recently, but I can't claim credit for that one. Loggie (talk) 06:16, 29 May 2008 (UTC)
- Preferably tell me in the future only about those after they have successfully gone up at T:DYK, that will make things much easier to keep track of. Thanks again so much for doing this. Cirt (talk) 06:20, 29 May 2008 (UTC)
- Done, added Samite and Bucks point lace. Cirt (talk) 06:34, 29 May 2008 (UTC)
