Teuvo Peltoniemi (born 1950) is a senior Finnish writer, journalist, researcher and eHealth developer. He is Communications Director of the A-Clinic Foundation, the main Finnish addictions treatment organisation and Editor-in-Chief of the leading Finnish journal on addictions Tiimi and of the most popular Finnish web and mobile portal on addictions AddictionLink. He also coordinates apua.info, a joint portal of over 20 main Finnish NGOs on mental health, substance abuse, domestic violence and child care.

Peltoniemi is President of European Encare Network for children affected by risky family environments within the family, and Founder and Vice President of Prevnet European network on addictions related eHealth.

Mr. Peltoniemi was born in Finnish Lapland. He has academic degrees in Sociology and Mass Communication from universities of Tampere and Helsinki. His has earlier been working at the Finnish Broadcasting Company, University of Tampere and various research institutes.

He has written, edited or translated 16 books on alcohol and drug related issues, domestic violence, child neglect and sexual abuse, net addiction, eHealth, and Finnish utopian emigrants abroad. He regularly writes general and scientific articles for media and presents papers at national and international conferences. Mr. Peltoniemi appears weekly in the Finnish media as a specialist on alcohol, drugs, net addiction, information society and other related topics.

Mr. Peltoniemi has received a number of national and European awards related to his work, like (personal awards:) "2006 Press Officer of the Year" award by ProCom - Finnish Association of Communications Professionals, and the "2007 Science Journalist Award" by the Finnish Association of Science Editors and Journalists, (for Fragile Childhood:) Honorary award of the First European Health Education Award, 1998, (for AddictionLink:) EU eHealth2004 Awards finalist in Cork 2004, eHealth Award of the Finnish Society of Telemedicine 2005, “Special Award” of the Prime Minister's Awards for Best Finnish Information Society Practices at the IST2006 Conference.
