Image talk:Teutonic order charge.jpg
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The image Teutonic order charge.jpg used here is problematical:
- it is a picture from a computer game so that there is no historical authenticity (i.e. it is not a reality, it is an idea or an image of somebody who made the game)
- the licence is not clear

- The licence is fair use, I have added a fairusein version, we can add more if you deem it necessary. As for the authenticity, I don't think it is a relevant issue: for the same reason we should disqualify, for example, most of Jan Matejko's painting, as he obviously wasn't there to witness many of the events he painted. Unless the image has any errors which we an identify I think we can assume that the artists did his best and the image is historically relevant.--Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus Talk 22:00, 6 June 2006 (UTC)

So is the image a video game cover or something else that was incorporated into a video game cover? If it's not a cover, you probably shouldn't have this tagged with the gamecover template. If it is a cover, then there could still be a problem. To quote an example from the WP fair use policy page:
- Some people find it easier to understand the concept of fair use from what is not fair use. Here are a few examples of uses that would almost certainly not be acceptable as fair use:...

Isn't that the same type of situation we have here? Kil (talk) 14:37, 13 June 2006 (UTC)
