Tetsundo Iwakuni

Tetsundo Iwakuni (岩国 哲人? born July 11, 1936) is a Japanese politician of the Democratic Party of Japan, a member of the House of Representatives in the Diet (national legislature). A native of Osaka, Osaka and graduate of the University of Tokyo, he was elected to be the mayor of Izumo, Shimane in 1989. After running unsuccessfully for the governorship of Tokyo in 1995, he was elected to the House of Representatives for the first time in 1996.
