Teshie is a city in Ghana in the Greater Accra Region]]. Fort Augustaborg, built by the Danes in 1787, is located in Teshie and was occupied by the British from 1850 to 1957. The national Officer Cadet Training School and Kofi Annan International Peacekeeping Training Centre (KAIPTC) are also located here.
The Teshie people are well known for their no non-sense attitude and yet hospitable to all race and back ground. The language of Teshie is Ga. It currently well diversed as a result of the country's current democracy and development program. The best part of the year to be at Teshie will be in August when the people celebrate their annual Homowo festival, it is colorful, enchanting and fun; you could almost walk in to any house and get served food.
The southern part of Teshie is based around the fishing community, while northern areas are more middle class.
