Template talk:Test-b

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

I thought there should a template that had a nicer tone when referring to the tested page that was similar to the original test template. I would like to great as much input as I can before I list it in the user talk page template category. If I have done something wrong, please let me know. Thanks for the message on my talk page. I don't have a problem with it myself: in fact I've been thinking about doing something like this for a while. -- Francs2000 16:48, 23 September 2005 (UTC)
Just as an afterthought though could it have a better name? Just thinking about what I have to type: going from test to hyphen to b at 80 words a minute could lead to all sorts of mistypings... -- Francs2000 19:59, 23 September 2005 (UTC)
I had thought about just naming it testb. That might be easier to type. If the name were to be changed, can it the old name just be set up as a redirect so that either can work? Psy guy (talk) 20:38, 23 September 2005 (UTC)
No the way to make sure both work is to have two mirror templates. Redirects don't work when you're adding them to pages inside {{tags}} -- Francs2000 02:48, 24 September 2005 (UTC)

I appreciate everyone who gave their input, both here and on my talk page. I am going to create a mirror template. It will be simply testb. After using the template, I agree with Francs that a hyphen can cause problems while typing. Thanks. Psy guy (talk) 02:42, 30 September 2005 (UTC)

Templates seem to work fine when redirected. Was the discussion above before MediaWiki was upgraded to support this? Quarl (talk) 2006-02-08 05:47Z
