[edit] Two Questions

First question, was the speaking clock on the 2007 test the voice of Sara Mendes da Costa who won the position of the speaking clock during the latest Children in Need? Just curious...

Second question, Do the BBC have any plans to bring back the Test card after recent requests for it to be re-aired?

[edit] First Question answer

No. It was a different rendition to the phone one. I know this is because the phone one says: "At the third stroke, the time sponsored by Accurate will be Four twelve and ten seconds precisely" However, the one on the background to the test card said: "Four, twelve and ten seconds" and it sounded much more eletrical.

[edit] Was it really broadcast in April?

Today I checked the article and it said that it was last broadcast on 24th April 2007. Is this true? I've checked the Radio Times, and there is nothing about it in there.

[edit] April Broadcast Hoax

I'm afraid not, somebody tried to trick us.

Re: I suggest you get in contact with the BBC that's what I did

Cooky-cy 16:32, 1 May 2007 (UTC)

Yeah. I'll ask them when the test cards are due to be shown.

Any Luck, so far? - Cooky-cy

No, not yet. I sent the email recently, and all I got was a message saying that the email may take a long time as they recieve so many emails.

Riatsila 18:03, 11 May 2007 (UTC)

Yeah, that's what I got and I still got a responce, you may have to wait a little while before they reply to you :)

Cooky-cy 19:54, 11 May 2007 (UTC)

I got a reply and they had nothing to tell me about. All they gave me was a link to the Meldrum Test Card site.

Riatsila 19:39, 14 May 2007 (UTC)

Is that it!? That's pretty damm pathetic, that doesn't even answer your question, why can't they just show it instead of Learning Zone or Ceefax. First they cancell Doctor Who for Eurovision and now this, the BBC is really starting to annoy me lately.

Cooky-cy 22:24, 15 May 2007 (UTC)

I'm not saying bring back closedowns and test trade transmissions, just I would like to see Test Card for real: either unsheduled or during and engineering test.

Riatsila 14:31, 16 May 2007 (UTC)

Well of coarse, I doubt the BBC will quit 24 hour programming, I just want our test cards back and I don't see the harm in them doing so, it's like they are trying to avoid it.

[edit] Image:Testcard J.jpg

Nothing against this picture, but:

1. It looks rather like a screenshot

2. The BBC logo looks rather like it has been edited on (I may be wrong)

This is a good picture, but unless anyone has a oppositition, I would like to switch back to Image:TCJ.jpg as soon as possible. If you have a problem, contact me on my User talk:Riatsila

Thanks,

Now changed it. If you have an issue, please contact me on my Talk page.

I kinda prefer the other one, it looks more.......authentic =9

[edit] Video Game

For pete sake if I see that false video game article one more time, I'll throw a cat out of the window, whoever you are, stop it now, it isn't funny or clever, you are just making a moron out of yourself and I bet that was the same person who changed the test card date too.

[edit] 2008 sightings?

Its about this time of year that the BBC do the Rebroadcast test thing on BBC1 and 2. I read [1] here that the tests are taking place on Wednesday 9th January, from 02:30 to 03:30 on BBC 2 and 04:30 to 05:30 on BBC 1. Will we see test card J? I will don my anorak and record it onto tape...

I don't know if this really counts as a proper appearance but Test Card J did appear briefly on a repeat of Have I Got News For You presented by Moira Stewart on Monday Febuary 4th 2008 as part of a joke about Venezuelan TV censorship —Preceding unsigned comment added by 62.30.37.47 (talk) 12:56, 13 February 2008 (UTC)
